The African Fashion Show for Charity is an international cultural and charitable initiative that uses fashion and creative expression to promote diversity, inclusion, visibility, and social cohesion.

The project was presented in the Republic of Moldova through several editions, including the Diversity Fashion Show 2026, which brought together designers, models, students, artisans, ethnic communities, diplomatic representatives, international organisations, and local partners.

Our mission:

At the heart of the project is a commitment to creating inclusive spaces where cultures, identities, and creative talents can be seen, respected, and celebrated.

1. Promote cultural diversity: By showcasing traditional and contemporary styles from different countries and communities, we foster dialogue, mutual respect, and cross-cultural understanding.

2. Empower women and young people: Each edition supports women and young people by offering workshops, creative spaces, access to fabrics and materials, and opportunities to present their designs to a wider audience.

3. Create platforms for emerging designers: We believe in connecting talent across communities and countries. By bringing designers, artisans, students, and creative industries together, we open doors for collaboration, professional growth, and international exposure.

4. Strengthen social cohesion: Through fashion, art, music, and storytelling, the project creates opportunities for people from different backgrounds to meet, collaborate, and better understand one another.

Our approach:

The project is driven by a committed team of partners, volunteers, and professionals who believe in inclusion, transparency, and collaboration.

Depending on the format of each edition, the project may include community workshops, activities for young people, intercultural exchange, artistic performances, exhibitions, charitable initiatives, and a final fashion show that brings diverse communities together.

The Diversity Fashion Show in Moldova highlighted the country’s ethnic and cultural communities, including Ukrainian, Roma, Gagauzian, and Bulgarian groups, alongside African designers and other international participants.

Through visibility, creativity, and equal participation, the project contributes to reducing stereotypes, encouraging intercultural dialogue, and strengthening social cohesion.

Board members and members of the organisational committee are selected for each edition. Given the volunteer-based nature of the initiative, these roles are filled by individuals with relevant expertise in fashion, event management, communications, partnerships, finance, fundraising, and community engagement who are willing to contribute their time and skills.

Future editions and partnerships:

Following the Diversity Fashion Show 2026 in Moldova, the African Fashion Show for Charity team is exploring opportunities for future editions and international collaborations in 2027–2028.

We welcome expressions of interest from embassies, international organisations, cultural institutions, designers, creative professionals, community organisations, sponsors, media partners, and businesses interested in supporting or hosting a future edition.

Partnership opportunities may include financial or in-kind sponsorship, cultural participation, designer and artist engagement, community outreach, venue and logistical support, communications, media collaboration, and charitable partnerships.
